It takes a village …

Hey everyone!

Sometimes as we sit there building our affiliate businesses we think we are out there all alone.

Using a village to build a business implies that it takes a collective effort for several reasons.

1 Diverse Skills And Expertise- you must have a wide range of skills and knowledge.

2 Support & Mentorship Entrepreneurs benefit from guidance and advice from mentors, advisors and peers. You can better navigate challenges and make less mistakes this way.

3 Networks and connections leveraging a network of contact including potential customers investors and partners can give you a boost up like access to resources, oportunities, and support.

4 Emotional & Moral Support Entrepreneurship can be a stressful journey. There is nothing worse than feeling like you are walking alone.

5 Shared Responsibility As a business grows so does the workload. Have a team who can share the tasks makes this much more palatible.

6 Collaboration & Innovation- Having creative problem solving with a team can lead to diverse ideas & perspectives.

7 Building a community Businesses often flourish when they become part of a community. It is a great way to build a loyal customer base

You can bet I remember as I first got started all times I got stuck and had no one to help. As you advance yourself in the online world you find that it takes a community to get you up and going. It is not just about your optin tribe, It is about the support systems you build on your journey.

I am reminded of an old Jon Donne poem. ” No man is an island entire of itself, Every one is a part of the continent, a piece  of the main.  I first read this poem as a Senior in highschool while wring a a book report on “for Whom the Bell Tolls”. At the time I had no idea what the poem meant. Now that I have more years behind than ahead, such verses have great meaning.

What do you do when you are stuck? Do you have others that can reach out for inspiration?

Afterall what’s an adventure if you do not have others to share it with.

Others can give us a great perspective on how we are doing because we might not see a path ahead or see our own genius. You may realize that you are harder on yourself than you are on others.

To this Day I still call one of my original coaches just to check in and see what he is up to?

The other perspective is that we are sometimes afraid to ask for help, when it might be only a call, text or email away.

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness that you cannot figure out problems on your own, it could well be a way to accelerate your growth.

Some may feel that they are burdening others, but if you do not ask you do not find.

In cultures that value self reliance it can be particularly difficult. You fight feel asking for help demeans your ability.

You may also fear rejection if you ask someone and they say no. It can discourage you from reaching out.

In the end helping others can be rewarding and provide a positive impact on others lifes.

  1. Hi Scott,
Powerful blog entry! Wouldn’t it be great if we could only go back to speak to our younger self and give them a few good insights as to what to do and how to do it?
I know we can’t actually do that but one way I’ve found that does this quite nicely though is teaching others via our Affiliate Marketing blogs how we can help each other.
It’s not only about the money we can be making but how we can help others become better persons and grow but personally and professionally.
    All the best!

  2. You are never alone in this great community that we find ourselves in. Not to mention the awesome support that we have at our fingertips through Dean and his team. We are so blessed to have found the perfect platform for getting help when we need it. There are no judgements here, just pure, unadulterated support and guidance. Great post and it’s never late.
